Waves of globalization since the end of the Cold War have resulted in fractures throughout the world. In response, we have come to emphasize concepts such as “sustainability” and “impact.” However, these have different levels of importance to different people: CSR and ESG for businesses, economic growth and environmental protection for governments, and social justice and human rights for non-profits and individuals. While much of humanity is committed to making the world a better place, some answers remain elusive. How do we know when we have made a difference? What challenges are next? Where should we focus? Where can Japan take the lead? This G1 Global panel explored how to achieve sustainable impact through business, technology, governments, and civil society with a diverse panel of voices.
