Ms. Rucker has a BA Hons in pediatric nursing and diplomas in kinesiology and nutritional therapy. She worked in London at the Chelsea and Westminster High Dependency Unit and the Paediatric Accident and Emergency Unit for many years. After that, she moved to overseas nursing work with NGOs in Africa and Médecins Sans Frontières in Sri Lanka.
Moving to Hong Kong at a time of high incidence of respiratory infections, Ms. Rucker worked in a clinic where the doctor put nutrition first. This involved boosting the immune system with supplements, rather than resorting to antibiotics. The approach inspired Ms. Rucker to learn more about the power of nutrition, leading to three years of training in nutritional therapy at Patrick Holford’s Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London.
On finishing her training, she set up a successful practice in Singapore, then moved to Tokyo, where she established her own nutritional therapy practice. She later moved back to Singapore to work at the Body with Soul Clinic in Rochester Park. As a firm believer in the power of nutrition, she is also a creator of recipes for her clients, speaker, writer, cooking instructor, and raw food advisor.
