Mr. Kariyazono is a cofounding partner at GLOBIS Capital Partners. He joined GLOBIS Corporation in 1996 as fund manager of the GLOBIS Incubation Fund, then became a founding partner of the Apax GLOBIS Japan Fund.

Prior to joining GLOBIS, he worked for the Management Consulting Division of Sanwa Research Institute Corporation, where he was involved in strategic development and implementation consulting. He began serving as chairman of the Japan Venture Capital Association in 2015 and has served as honorary chairman since July 2019.

Mr. Kariyazono received a BA in law from Keio University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Business. He has authored three Japanese books on entrepreneurial strategy. He has authored several books: Private Equity from the Perspective of Institutional Investors, The Case-Method Approach to Strategic Entrepreneurship, MBA Business Plan, and Advice to Entrepreneurs from a Venture Capitalist.
