After graduating university, Ms. Namba began her career as an editor of young adult novels for Kodansha. From there, she moved on to freelance work, mainly editing and writing articles for scientific and medical texts and magazines. Since 2005, she has acted as a specially appointed associate professor for several institutions, including Hokkaido University (Science and Technology Communication Training Unit; URA Station), Waseda University (Graduate School of Political Science), and the Higher Education Promotion Institution (Graduate School of Education).

She joined GLOBIS University in 2014 and has since continued to launch new businesses in non-profit sectors such as universities, NPOs, and research institutes. These include the Japan Medical Policy Organization, the Japan Science and Technology Agency, and the Science Media Center. Her research specialty is the practice and design of innovation through scientific communication and dialogue.
