Mr. Schulz is Senior Economist at the Fujitsu Research Institute (FRI), a private think tank and consultancy that focuses on economic policy and corporate strateg y in Japan. He is in charge of research and consultation on macroeconomics, finance, and corporate overseas strategies. Additionally, he is a consultant to government institutions like Japan's Ministry of Trade and Industry (METI). His work is widely quoted in international media ‒ with regular interviews at Bloomberg, CNBC, the BBC, etc.

Previously, he was a visiting researcher at the Bank of Japan and University of Tokyo, Assistant Professor of Economic Policy and Monetary Integration at Free University Berlin in Germany, and guest professor at a number of universities in Europe and Japan.
