Mr. Shibusawa has worked in the Japanese financial markets with JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and global macro hedge fund Moore Capital Management. In 2001, he established Shibusawa & Co., an investment advisory firm, and later co-founded Commons Asset Management in 2008. He is a also a director of Eiichi Shibusawa Memorial Foundation, director Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives), and is on the board of directors of several other non profit organizations.

Mr. Shibusawa graduated from the University of Texas in 1983 with a degree in chemical engineering and obtained an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1987
