Ms. Makishi is an entrepreneur and strategist currently based in NYC. She does digital consulting for tech startups and started a women’s travelwear brand. In the past, she was funded by the European Union Entrepreneurs Program consulting businesses in Europe to scale internationally. She started her career in digital advertising for Fortune 100s such as Disney and Bank of America.

Ms. Makishi is a mentor at Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator, Defy Ventures, a US-Japan Council Emerging Leader Program alum, and NEXUS Global member. She has a bachelor's degree from Penn State University and a masters from the University of Oxford. She is passionate about creating a global, circular economy and empowering women. One of her great personal accomplishments was solo cycling the Silk Road, 5,000 miles from China to Uzbekistan.
