As a communications professional and educator, Mr. Chavez has worked with many of the top brands in the Asia Pacific region, improving executive performance in media interviews, press conferences, and investor relations presentations.

He has spent more than 20 years in Japan working in international business, as managing director of Hill & Knowlton and in corporate and marketing communications at IBM Asia Pacific. He has been a professor of public relations and advertising at California Polytechnic State University. He was also a competitive market analyst for the consulting division of Nortel Networks. Before coming to Japan, he worked in public relations and as a reporter and editor in the United States.

He holds a BA from Colorado College and an MS in mass communications from the University of Kansas.
