Dr. Kirchmann became CEO and president of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation in June 2009. He also concurrently serves as head of Trucks Asia. Previously, he held positions within Daimler AG (previously DaimlerChrysler AG) as head of the Finance & Controlling Business and Product Planning of Daimler Trucks & Buses.

Dr. Kirchmann has also been in charge of business development, controlling, and finance in the Commercial Vehicle Division since 2004. He has been responsible for the Strategy, Controlling and Planning Sector in the Powertrain Business Unit since 1997 and served as director of Corporate Planning and Controlling at Mercedes-Benz in Spain. He joined Daimler-Benz AG in 1984 after studying industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and receiving his doctorate.
