Ms. Ushida worked in strategic planning and business management in the tourism and entertainment field for a major railway company. She was involved in the formation of tourism strategies for rural areas in Chile, applying her master’s degree in research to enhance community development through business activities. Later, at the Japanese Embassy in Costa Rica, she performed economic policy analysis and provided business support as a research specialist. Since joining GLOBIS, she has lent her expertise to faculty and instructional development.

She received her undergraduate degree from Waseda University and her MBA from Kobe University's Graduate School of Business Administration. She also received a master's degree in rural development from the University of East Anglia in the UK.
