< Session description >
Japan’s cuisine, fashion, and anime subcultures have already earned some faithful followers in different places of the world. But the multifaceted nature of Japan often seems to go overlooked – while being steeped in deep traditions and customs, Japanese culture is in a continual state of flux, with rapidly shifting fads and trends. How can Japan’s culture, lifestyles and values be effectively communicated on the global stage? This panel features a former Cultural Affairs Commissioner, a public diplomacy expert, and a renowned observer of Japan’s society and culture, moderated by one of the leading advocates of the Cool Japan initiative.
